Activity Overview
Proofreading documents is probably the most common Word tasks. In this lesson you will use the spelling and grammar checker, edit the text and proof prior to printing the document.

Lesson
- Open the Offer Letter.doc file.
- In the paragraph that begins We enjoyed meeting, select liked and type: were absolutely delighted with and then adjust the spacing if necessary.
- In the same paragraph, select interesting and replace it with unique. In the same sentence delete the word alternatives. In the same sentence select the phrase: are very skillful and replace it with demonstrated skill.
5. In the paragraph that begins We would like, delete the word once. In the same sentence, replace the word consider with explore. In the same sentence, place the insertion point at the end of the word mutual and type ly. - There are some grammar and spelling errors that need to be corrected. Right-click on the duplicate or misspelled words and correct as necessary.
- In the paragraph that begins with We would like, use the technique of Ctrl + Shift + –> to select the three words The Perfect Party and then change the font to Lucinda Calligraphy, font size to 11 point, and Bold.
- Click the blank line following Yours truly and add two more blank lines by pressing Enter two times. Display the Page Setup dialog box and center the letter vertically on the page.
- Insert a footer with the following information: 01_Offer_Letter_Firstname_Lastname.
- Press Ctrl + Home to navigate to the top of the letter. Proofread the letter to make sure it is correct.
- Save your document.
- Print Preview to make a final check of your letter.
- Optional: Print your document for review.
- Close Word.
