What is Google Docs?

Google Docs is a free, web-based word-processing application that allows you to create and edit documents online. It is part of the Google Workspace suite of productivity tools which also includes: Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Drawings, Google Forms, Google Sites, and Google Keep. Google Docs is available as a web application and as a mobile app for iOS and Android devices.

Google Docs allows you to create and edit text documents right in your web browser—no special software is required. Even better, multiple people can work at the same time, you can see people’s changes as they make them, and every change is saved automatically.

With Google Docs, you can:
